The College Football Playoff is a postseason tournament that determines the college football national champion. This year, I was lucky enough to be selected to work as a graphic designer for the most prestigious set of games in the sport. This season also marked a historical milestone for the playoff, as it was the first year of the 12-team format - previously standing as a 4-team format for the past decade. To showcase the prestige of the playoff, intentional usage of metallic gold headlined the identity, along with subtle usage of the logo and brand marks, custom 3D embellishing, and faint glow effects.
The Goal
National Championship Game Atlanta, GA
The college football season culminates at one singular game each year: the National Championship. To represent the amped up energy, magnitude, and intensity, the brand identity was altered. New creative blending techniques were introduced, additional 3D embelleshments were added, canvas backgrounds were flipped from black to white, a new style of player treatment was developed in an attempt to make team colors stand out, and various elements of Mercedes-Benz Stadium were turned into texture to represent the grit of Atlanta.

First-Round | College Football Playoff
Standing as the first-ever 12-team playoff games, the goal of the first-round was to effectively showcase the historic themes. Leaning heavily into various broken records, each piece reflected some form of re-written history.
